Hi, Christine,

You have several options. The easiest one in my opinion is to find the files in 
downloads, copy them, and then either command-v to paste or command-option-v to 
move them right into the message body. Another method is to press 
command-shift-a to attach, and then, in the browse dialog, press 
command-shift-h to go to your home folder and find the downloads folder there.
