When you get a download, hit Command Option L to open the downloads list. Interact with the list, then interact with the group whose file name you care about. VO Right and your status should be there, and as well, you'll land on a moving visual indicator that now clicks as the data comes in.
I have dictated this portion of this letter, just to see if it still works after I rebooted my computer. It does! Pressing the function key or whatever he resigned as a shortcut for twice the first time will start dictation you'll get a lower tone. After your done press the function key again one more time. Dictation, at which point, you will hear the the higher tone. I don't see any problem with this, but don't know if pressing the dictation key twice with messed up the dictation you already have.
