Hi all,
Sorry for all the questions today, but when I use the mac for an while as I
have been doing since yesterday, I get curious about things.
So, vlc...
1. Can I control the playback speed better than cmd-equals or cmd-minus? The
jumps from these commands are pretty large.
2. Can I control the pitch of a song? For instance, a song in the key of G
might need to be raised to the key of A for me to practice playing it. Is this
doable, perhaps through a plugin? Does vlc even do plugins?
3. In preferences, I found it very hard to get anywhere as arrowing in the
table auto-expanded every option, so I could never actually just arrow through
the major categories to get an overview, let alone find anything I wanted. Is
there a way of changing this?
4. This isn't vlc specifically, but how can I set file associations? I want
mp3s, oggs, and other audio to open in vlc by default, but all my media is on
my windows partition. When I try to set vlc as default, I get the usual error
I'd get had i tried to write to that partition, and the preference is not
saved. Does OSX handle associations on a file-by-file basis, and is this why I
get that error? If not, how can I set vlc to handle media files? I saw nothing
about this in system preferences.
Thanks in advance!

Have a great day,
