Hi Christina.  I've never used anything with dependencies myself, so there may 
be more to it, but as I understand it, dependencies are task that can't be 
completed until other tasks are already complete.  This isn't something I need, 
so remember the milk works for me.
I have an iPhone 4S, and I use Siri to enter things in to RTM.  On the Mac, I 
use a dashboard widget.  That's the only thing I use the dashboard for.  So if 
I need to enter something quickly, I just hit the dashboard button, and I'm 
focussed on the edit box where I can just start typing.
You can also enter tasks into remember the milk by the web, email, twitter or 
sms.
