Hello Maria,

If you press VO-t you'll hear the font type, size and colour, as well as bold, 
italic, etc.

I just tried changing the colour of a portion of text and Cmd-Shift-c first 
opened the colour palette then hid it the next time.

In Pages, I like to hide everything I can to keep the window as uncluttered as 
possible and only show things when I need them.
