It does seem like a reasonable idea. But, I have a question in that regard.

Question: If you have backed up apps either on the computer or iCloud how do you know whethere there are multiple copies of an app or whether the version that is backed up is the most current update of the app that is backed up. If the backup is likely to not be the most recent version then that would be all the more reason to not backup and just download a copy of an app that you needed to replace because then you would know that you had the latest update of that app.

Hey everyone, I'm wondering what everyone thinks of keeping their apps
backed up in itunes. Do most of you do this? The reason I ask is, since you
can redownload them if needed by going to the purchased tab in the app
store, I've thought about deleting them from my computers and freeing up
several GB of disk space.
