Hi Christine,

I'm running Lion here, and I won't be able to try this on a machine running
Snow Leopard for a few hours. This is certainly an odd web site. I was able
to fill in the fields the way Max did by tabbing and then typing. Make sure
that you don't have Quick Nav turned on, or that won't work. If Quick Nav is
turned on, I can Command-Tab between Safari and TextEdit (a window in plain
text mode) and copy and paste in the field information.

I have my navigation options set for mouse pointer ignores VoiceOver cursor,
but the way.

Yes, the alternative that I use for a mouse click on a laptop keyboard is to
Control-click with my trackpad (that is, press the control key and click the
trackpad with TrackPad Commander turned off). That also worked to bring focus
to the entry fields. Another way to do this on a laptop is to set up your
keyboard so that you can turn Mouse Keys on or off by pressing the Option key 5
times quickly in succession. This is a check box under System Preferences >
Universal Access > on the Mouse& Trackpad tab. When you turn Mouse Keys on and
press the "i" key, this is just like doing a click with a physical mouse. If
you are using an extended keyboard with numeric keypad and have NumPad
Commander turned on, then another way to click with the mouse is to press the
Control key together with the "5" key on the numeric keypad. This assumes that
you have not changed the default NumPad Commander definitions.

These two options -- using Mouse Keys on a laptop keyboard and pressing the "i"
key and using NumPad Commander on a full-size keyboard and pressing Control+"5"
on the numeric keypad -- always work when a key click is required. Do not turn
on NumPad Commander and Mouse Keys at the same time! You don't need Mouse Keys
if you are using a full size keyboard, and it is a bit of a pain toggle it on
and off just to "click".

Are you sure that you didn't have Quick Nav turned on? Christine, you manage
to find more odd web page forms that are problematic with VoiceOver than anyone
else I know!

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
