Just wanted to thank you for your suggestion on erasing and re-installing the OS. My internet connection is more stable, and I have the added benefit of accomplishing the task of erase and re-installing which is a confidence booster for me. I had speech all the way through the process; never could have done that with Windows! I'm enjoying learning Lion as my MacBook Pro still has SnowLeopard on it. Didn't wish to upgrade, but purchasing the iMac forced me into working with Lion, and that's a good thing. I'll get back to you on VmWare Fusion when I get around to setting up Windows.
