Jason, I looked at the Apple TV's, but decided to go the Mini Route. The main reason is that the Mini will also become the family and video storage center. My wife is starting to venture into photography, and the Mini on the larger screen will be the best way for her to look over her photos.. Additionally, I am picking up a pair of iPads for the home, which will act as the laptops while we travel.
I picked up Apple's bluetooth touch pad yesterday, after a long chat with the Apple Tech folks at the local store. Great tip from you all. Furthermore, I spoke with a eye doc in the area who is also a Apple geek.
