hello, of course i can help it's the first time i write here but i have a macbook pro since last September well, for your question: first of all, the access key for search field, is command+f to access the updates, just press command+5. you find all keyboard shortcuts by accessing the menu bar,with vo+m, from app store window, and going to Store menu, with right arrow, then go down you have the same concept of iOS. categories, search, update and so on bye, hope it helps
