Hi,

You most likely will need to go to your Apple Menu, then to System Preferences, then to Printers and Fax. There, you'll see a list of printers available in a table. If you don't see your printer, you'll need to add it with he plus button or add printer button. Here's where it gets tricky. Depending on the type of network printer you have, you may or may not see it in the list that comes up. Ideally, you'll want to use IP printing instead of Bonjour for reasons I won't go into here, but that will require you to configure your network printer with a static IP address, or configure your router to always give the same IP address to your printer. IF this confuses you, try simply using Bonjour printing and just add it. the trick is if you sometimes fail to print something, go back to your printer and fax system preferences, delete the printer in the list, and add it again. Sometimes this happens with bonjour printers, more frequently than it should, and it's one case where Macs don't just work.

Hi,
My printer is connected via network to my router, and I would like it to work over my Wifi network, should I simply try printing something and perhaps the same thing as you suggest below might occur?
Thanks.
Kirsten.

 Hi Kirsten,

Try plugging in the printer via USB. OS X should recognize the printer right away and will install/activate the necessary drivers.
Let me know if you have trouble off list.
