OK if I understand where your coming from!
Try this in the main hd library find where the tracks are and open it with 
command+O then cycle to finder with command+` then open your directory to where 
the shared folder is and open it also with command+o and if I've got this right 
you can then cycle with command+` from shared to music files so copy the tracks 
in the normal way command+c then cycle to the shared folder and paste command+v 
and if needed cycle back to get more tracks if you cannot copy all in one block!
Mind you I'm still using snowy kitty!
If your using Lion there was something about having both windows open that you 
can copy from one to the other using vo!
Or something like that!
