Hi Ray,

This seem really weird behavior, and is not present for me in Snow Leopard.  
The only thing I can think of, apart from the odd permissions associated with 
the /Scripts folder that you're using, is that the "say" command does or has 
had some latency.  When I used it in earlier versions of Mac OS X for time 
announcements, I used to put a "delay" argument of a tenth of a second or so 
before starting it up, to avoid conflicting with whatever VocieOver was in the 
middle of saying.

You can get around using "say" by rewriting the Script to display a dialog 
window, but you shouldn't have to.  Maybe Hai Nguyen Lai (the author of the 
script) can make some suggestions.  This just  works for me in Snow Leopard.
