I used to use an old Everest printer (from the year 2000), and it worked fine
to a point. Whatever embosser you choose, and I can't recommend any, had better
have a usb connection.

I do not think Duxbury is compatible with Mac computers. I used to use Louis -
an open source piece of software produced by A member of this list. I think a
search in Google should take you to the page from which you can download it.
(Louis is free.) Louis was okay for me simple tasks, and it seems to work with
many languages. Louis also comes with and emboss programme called emboss.app
which you will need to emboss your files previously translated into Braille by
Louis.

There is a mac programme from IndexBraille for braille translations but I'm not
sure whether it would work with Voiceover. You could ask IndexBraille as well
as for the list of compatible embossers with Indexbraille translation software.

I hope that someone on the list can also add to my remarks. I think Anouk does
or used to use Braille but I'm not sure whether he is following this
conversation.

Hope this is somewhat helpful.

Best wishes

Simon
