Press and hold the home key and power key at the same time for about
10 seconds.  That will hard boot the phone.  I have had a nightmare
this evening, I killed mine too.  Had to re-install iTunes, find and
replace the iPhone updater file, restore about 300 times or it felt
that way and kept getting error 3014 which looks like they think I
tried to JB however I haven't ever even been tempted.  Got it sorted
in the end though.
