Thanks but sadly not. The stupid thing about this is it only does it on one website. There's nothing wrong with the site though because it is a BbC podcasts page and the links are definitely active because they play when you click on them. . None of the links work when I voiceOver shift M them. If I go to another podcast page then it works. I think it happened when I was using the trackpad. I tried to do the gesture equivalent to the VO shift M key and must have done the wrong gesture. From then on it's gone wrong. I've tried deleting history and that hasn't solved anything. I can't understand what this thing is doing sometimes.
