Hi, traci,

the status of a download can be found in the toolbar.  It is a button called 
download.  When pressed, a window pop up.  Interact with the part called 
"list".  A quick way to get to the download button is to press command option F 
to go to the google search box in the toolbar and press VO right arrow once.  
Another reason you might have missed this button as well is, it only appears 
when a download is in progress.  So if you downloading a small file, you will 
probably miss it.
