hey Anouk,

I do my HTML and CSS in text edit. I had to tweak a couple settings but find it
works just fine. from within text edit do the following:
1. go to preferences
2. under the new document tab, make sure rich text is selected.
3. under the open and save tab make sure "ignore rich text commands in HTML
files is checked. Ignore rich text commands in RTF files should also be
checked. add .txt extension to plain text files should *not* be checked. make
sure opening and saving files are both set to unicode UTF-8

now text edit should work fine for you to write HTML and CSS code in. as for
learning to code, w3schools.com is a great resource. it goes through HTML and
CSS from beginning to end and shows you examples. also, if you want any
additional help email me off list and we can skype and I can try to help you.
I'm just learning myself but I really love it and am willing to help!

happy coding!
peace and positivity
