I did some googling on this, and here is a terminal code I found.

sudo defaults write /Applications/HardwareGrowler.app/Contents/Info LSUIElement -bool
true

I'm not sure if that is just to get rid of the icon in the doc though. I'm not fimiliar with terminal at all.

I'm going to keep looking, because it bugs me as well.  Lol!
