Hi Yuma, I'm experiencing no latency on the encrypted drive. I now know that ssd is a lot faster than a normal hard drive, and because my mac is starting to get old, I still have a mechanical hard drive and there are no speed issues. Regarding dropbox, the Lion full disk encryption is completely transparent to any program you run, so it's not going to conflict with anything. Rest assured about dropbox.
