So this could be fixed only in the server version, which would make some
sense. Everyone else will still have to do the VGA to NTSC contraption I
outlined previously or use a real monitor.

i disagree.
this is the mid2011 mini. the finder becomes slow and the status bar is slow
when i don't have the monitor connected.
