Mary, I'm really not sure how Radium managed it, but you do get VoiceOver access to the menu that otherwise requires clicking their icon on the status menu bar. You also don't need to used TrackPad Commander to navigate if you prefer to use shortcut keys. I just used TrackPad Commander to double tap on the Radium icon in my Dock, not knowing what would happen the first time I launched it. In hindsight, if the application has been started, even if VoiceOver tells you there are no windows open, you can press Command+comma to open the preferences menu. Then, you can navigate to the "Controls" tab and check the box for the shortcut for "Open/Close Radium" as Command+Shift+E.
After that, if you want to bring up the search menu that would be accessed from the status menu bar, just press Command+Shift+E, and you'll hear VoiceOver announce "Radio stations, search text field". You can navigate as you like (VO+arrow keys, QuickNav, or TrackPad Commander) in that window, and get to the other menu options. You might want to customize the shortcut to open/close Radium to a different keystroke combination -- when I was Command-tabbing between apps, and ended up in mail instead, Command+Shift+E gave me the option to redirect my message. I haven't checked out the different radio subscription options. If you have Sirius XM, or if there are Canadian users of Sirius Internet Radio or XM Radio Online+, they might report on their impressions. There are a number of other subscription options supported, too. I don't see an expiration date for the free trial download.
