Ok, when I read on the web, I don't notice this behavior, however, it could be that the things I am reading don't have any misspelled words in them. So far, it's mostly mail that has this problem. I am not ruling out the fact that it could be Safari, it just seems confusing that the problem is with mail which is, to my knowledge, completely separate from Safari.
