it hould be said you can copy the file to a thumb drive, but it will be an
m4a, not an mp3 unless you've got the original....I'm pretty sure this is
how it works...

Hi,
When you have found the song you want in iTunes, press command shift R.
This will open up the finder and land you directly on the music file.
From here, all you need to do is press command C to copy then, navigate to
your thumb drive.
