Hi, I have no problems with sluggishness in Reaper V4. It looks quite nice, i'd say. Haven't done any recordings with it, but i have tried editing a little and sorta gotten it to work. I don't know, but maybe more memory in your Macbook would be a good idea. I have 8 Gb on my IMac, but you could try with 4 GB. /Krister
