Hey Kevin;

While I'd certainly never discourage such a wiki, I will say that though it may
be difficult for seasoned Mac users to hear the same questions over and over
again, it can actually be a good thing in that new users will see answers to
common questions that they themselves may not even know they have yet.

This was partially what Josh and I had in mind when we were discussing
Maccessibility.net. While it is certainly recognized, There's a caveat.

Unfortunately, the reality at the moment, is that most people are way more
likely to simply post a question here or on another list long before they
consult Google or a wiki for their answer. This is actually part of the purpose
of why this and other lists exist. This list can be a gateway for new or
aspiring users of the Mac / Apple products where they can get their feet wet so
to speak, and if they choose, become experts in their own right.

this list is a journey for each person on it. We're not all at the same place,
but we're all in essence going to the same place. -Know what I mean?

Great post though and good luck if you decide to go with your idea! Sites like
AppleVis have become quite popular for iPhone apps, so perhaps your wiki would
take off just fine. :)

Have a terrific night!

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hello list members,

I'm discovering a lot of messages on the list that seem to be asking the same
questions over and over. I'm wondering if it would be more efficient for
several creative people out there to create a Macvisionaries wiki which would
contain answers to common questions and cover several common topics such as:

• Primers on switching from PC screen readers to the Mac
• Voiceover basics and common keystrokes in Mac OS X.
• Common commands, workarounds and techniques for programs such as
Safari, Mail, Address Book and so on.
• Tutorials on working with said programs and others such as Garage Band,
Logic, twitter clients and other third party software.
• Contacts for developers, accessibility status and other information
about less accessible programs.
• Other things I haven't thought of.

Just thought I'd throw this idea out there.

Kevin
