Hi Shen: I did have this experience---However, mine was only during the process of installing Lion. During that time, a very dreadful, poor-sounding voice with almost indiscernible speech would respond to my keystrokes. I couldn't budge volume at that point either. I was afraid Alex had been severely disfigured, and started wondering how I'd get Snow leopard back. Fortunately, once the install was complete, and the computer restarted twice, Alex was back in good form, and the volume keys worked as usual.
At the time, I just assumed it had to do with install, and allowing for speech with minimal disruption to the system during installation. Beyond that, I'm clueless why volume should be acting out.
