Hello. There are a few different scanning options. The one that I think is even easier than OpenBook is DocuScan. The one drawback is that it requires internet access. If you have Snow Leopard or Lion, you can get DocuScan from the app store. If you don't have internet access all of the time, some people like ABBY Fine Reader or Vue Scan.
