I do it a little differently now and I think easier.  First of all, I have 
created hotspots for the mailboxes table and messages table, that makes it 
easier to find them.  Secondly, when you are on a conversation, simply hit tab. 
 This will bring you into a content area and you can use vo+up and down arrow 
or just up and down arrow if you have quick nab on and vo will read each 
message.  When you're done shift tab back to the messages list and delete the 
conversation or jump to the next one etc.  Hope this helps.
