Hey all,
I got my new mbp 13: about three weeks ago. I was told by a couple of
Apple reps on the 1-800-My Apple line that lion was not yet released.
But you guys obviously got it. When was it released? I should be able
to get it free right? Also, can it be downloaded to your MacBook and
not installed yet? Any special download instructions for me to know?
Thanks,
Johnny

What’s the best way to get to the aps folder? It’s in the doc but it appears
you can’t get there via that shortcut.

Hi Chris,
THe installer is put in the Applications folder, but after it is used to
install the system it self-destructs. To prevent this you can quit it
initially with cmd-q, and you'll find it in there.
Best,
Zack.

Has anyone yet been able to figure out where in the heck the app store actually
puts the installer for Lion? What if I wanted to back the installer up on a
dvd? Is the installer not a .app file etc?

Hi Dona,
Yes, this is the what happens. You can monitor the progress of the download
via the purchases button in the toolbar. Also, the installer will open
automatically when the download finishes.
Best,
Zack.

Hi all,
So I went to the app store, clicked to purchase Lion, and clicked Confirm Purchase. It
now says "Installing Lion", but nothing else is happening. The downloads
folder hasn't opened, and I'm still on the page with the info about Lion. It's been like
this for about five minutes. Is this what should be happening? If not, any suggestions
for next steps?
TIA,
Donna
