Hi Jeff,

Here is are some alternative ways to try quitting moveAddict:
1. Use Spotlight (Command-Space or VO-M three times) and type in the first few
letters of the app, like "m o v" and press return. That should put the app in
the foreground, even if there are no open windows. Then type Command-q to quit
the app.
2. The App Store usually puts icons for apps in the dock. If there's an icon
for moveAddict there, you can quit it from the dock. Use either Control-F3 or
VO-D to navigate to the dock, then quickly press "m o v" to navigate to
"moveAddict". Bring up the context menu (VO-Shift-M), and either press "q" or
arrow down to find the "Quit" option, then press return or use VO-Space to
activate your selection.

If you're using Trackpad Commander you can also use the two finger double tap
at the bottom of the Trackpad to move to the dock.

I think that if you quit moveAddict, then do the update from the App Store,
moveAddict will start up again with the new version. Like Geoff, I got my
version of moveAddict before it became available in the App Store. The
"moveAddict Preferences.app" file is a preference pane file for the app that
allows VoiceOver users to access the icon that is on the Status menu bar that
VoiceOver can't navigate to. It lets you choose options like whether you want
to disable automatic start at login, or redefine the keyboard shortcuts used
for cut and paste. For users who did not get the app from the App Store, it
also has a "check for updates" preference setting.

You probably do not need to get the "moveAddict Preferences.app" file unless
you want to get more control of customizing your settings. If you want it, go
to the Kapeli web site:
http://kapeli.com/
Download the app, but instead of running the installation, just look for the
"Accessibility" folder, which will include a "moveAddict Preferences.app" file.
Copy or move this to your Applications folder.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
