Kevin, You will be fine with 2Gb of ram, but of course 4 would not hurt and might help a bit; however, again, 2Gb will be fine. You will only need the original discs etc. for any software you plan to reinstall. If you are performing an upgrade, you will not need these items. However, if you have lost any of your discs, I suggest you work on obtaining new copies. There is always that one chance you may have to reinstall the software etc.
