Hi, I'm sure there are ways to get around this. There has been much discussion about this on list the last week. I'm thinking if you run snow leopard from a external drive then erase your Mac HD, you can then have the lion installer instal Lion on the newly erased HD. I haven't tried this obviously but, it will probably work from what I've read.
