Yes, in fact, there is.  You can set skedurls for recording on the web site and 
it's completely accessible.  YOu can set single recordings, series recordings 
ETC.  YOu can also review, (but not watch) your DVR recordings on your Mac.  
You can, however, erase them with your Mac on the web site just fine.  
Operating the DVR via the remote is also quite easy.  No, it doesn't talk, but, 
the menu structure is set so that if you get lost, you just need to press the 
exit key and then, when you press the menu key, you are taken always to the top 
left most menu in the system.  Same with all submenus.

IF you do switch to U-verse, write me off list and I'll provide you with a full 
menu structure of the main manu, how to program the DVR via the site and with 
the remote, and how to find the SAP channel using the remote.
