Subject: Will I lose data if I boot from instalation disk?
Hi all,
Ok, so in an attempt to get organised I have partitioned an external hard
drive ready to use one of the partitions to create a backup of everything
on my mac (including operating system) using carbon copy cloner.
Everything was going well until ccc asked for my mac password which,
naturally, I have forgotten! Googling suggests I should boot from the
installation disks and reset the password that way, but will I lose data
doing this?
Is there another way of finding my password? I'm the only person using the
mac so I assume I'm the administrator.
Thanks in advance,
Ellie
