Thanks for the suggestions/questions.
Actually, yes, I finally got it working by doing a reset, turning Airport off, 
removing my neighbor's unsecured network from the choices, and turning airport 
back on.  It's still pretty quirky, (we had to reset again this afternoon).  
And I can't get the network control group to save the changes when I try to 
rename the network to something other the the infamous "myqwest."  But, yes.  
For the moment, it's working. (Man, it's hard to type with one's fingers 
crossed.:)
