Huh! I'll have to look into that. For what it's worth, Keynote did the
trick, but, if I'm gonna get more into power point down the road, which at
this point, I'm unsure, I'll certainly consider looking at this app you
mention.

Seems Bento is the one Apple pushes. I've never gotten a chance to play
with it though. I've seen screenshots, and it looks really user friendly.
You might could get a demo of it in an Apple Store.

Actually, I'm impressed! Keynote did beautifully! with the file. It took
me a bit to get the hang of how to navigate the application, but once I
got the hang of it, it was quite a breeze. Now, having said that, for
one, the lady was mistaking. there was no transitioning nor audio/video,
so I have no idea how Keynote would a handled that with VO. Speaking of
Keynote, by the way, as longas where on that subject, I thought Keynote
was a database program, not a presentation app. so, what then do you all
recommend for a good database app that isn't real powerful. I don't want
an MS Accewss for the Mac, if you will. I just need something real down
dirty sweet and simple/non powerful. Just something for incredibly basic
functionality.

Hi Chris,
you can try the PowerPoint Viewer if you have a Windows installation. It
is free and can be downloaded from the MS website. Keynote works also but
has the compatibility problem as Zack has already mentioned. I think
there's the same problem with Open Office/Libre Office.

Hi Chris,
I do believe Keynote will open .ppt files. Whether its support is good
enough to handle all the advanced features your slideshow apparently has
I don't know. This is yet another example of the assumption most
businesses seem to still have that Microsoft software in one form or
another is close at hand.
Best,
Zack.

Guys, I do not own Microsoft Office for Windows, and as you all know,
it's not accessible on the Mac.
I have a job interview this Monday, however one of the requirements
prior to the interview is to review a power point presentation. I
definitely have the file on my drive, and admittedly, haven't tried
openning it, but it's just a standard .ppt file. I've been told however
that it's not exactly a simple little slide show, it has auto slide
transitioning, background audio naration, basically the whole 9 yards.
They did say as a very last resort, they could have someone go through
the presentation with me in person before or during my interview, but
it's way more prefered that I view it ahead of time. I do have the
latest version of IWorks, but to the best of my understanding nothing'll
open a power point file that is including in that bundle of apps. So, I
have been told Preview will open it within some reason. So, what's the
best thing you all recommend, and can you all give me a little hand, how
to navigate through this? Yes the file is copy written, but it's freely
available for absolutely anyone, whehter applying or not to freely at
will download and view. So I'd be happy off list thus fore, to send
this file to anyone who would like it to see if they can get it to work
to then better assist me with navigating it. But! generally speaking,
what's the best way to go about doing this?
Chris.
