Hi listers,

I received my first bluetooth braille display, the BrailleConnect 40,
this week. So far, I am quite happy with it when I use it via USB,
but I have gotten some odd results when attempting to use it via
bluetooth. On my first night with it, I was able to pair it with my
mac without a problem. However, I just went to the local coffee shop
intending to chill with it for a while, but I could not pair it. When
I went to VoiceOver Utility and selected it as a bluetooth display, I
got a message saying "VoiceOver was unable to load the driver for
BrailleConnect 40. If the display needs to be in a terminal mode,
please be sure it is set to terminal mode". I tried pairing it
several more times without success. I then tried it via USB with
VoiceOver, and it worked. Then I tried to pair it again and got the
same error. When I select the display, I usually hear it beep, the
dots will fluctuate, and then the mac gives me the error. Finally, I
turned VO off and then on and tried pairing it again, and it was
successful. But I don't know why it seems to pair sometimes and not
pair at others. I tried turning VO off and on before, and it still
didn't pair afterward, so I'm not sure what is causing it to work or
not work. I've also had mixed results when pairing it with my iPhone.
I would appreciate any assistance other users of this display could
offer.

Have a lovely weekend.

Eric
