I'd say there's no reason for debate.  The warrantee is the best part of your 
mac, and if you want it to retain any value after next month then you need the 
warrantee.

If anything happens to your mac and you need service, the cost of service will 
be so high out of warrantee that you might as well buy a new computer.  With 
apple care you just take in the computer and in 24 hours it comes back fixed.
