Hello, You can always get downloads from the Apple Support downloads page: http://support.apple.com/downloads/ but it's often easier to use a page that links the specific downloads for a system update. Here's the MacFixIt page article with links to both incremental and combo downloads: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20045613-263.html
If the incremental download didn't work for you, try the larger combo download. The difference is that software update tries to give you the minimal download that you need for your system, and usually gets it right, but if that doesn't work, get the larger combo download. This is also a safer step if you are jumping several versions of the OS with your update (e.g. from 10.6.5 to 10.6.7). Note that anyone who has an early 2011 MacBook Pro should use a separate, custom download for this update. HTH.
