Hi Wes: You sight some pretty strong reasons to go with the macbook pro rather than the air in terms of memory, solid state drive etc. I would add that with the pro you would be getting cd/dvd rive and capabilities, and the sd card reader, that I don't think are part of the Macbook Air. either way, you're in for a great system.:)
