Hello Chad, The following suggestions came from a December 2010 thread on the Mac-Access mailing list, which is based in the UK. Users were experiencing the same issues you are seeing. Disclaimers: 1, I have not tried this myself. 2, these are suggestions for UK Users, and I have no idea if they will work for you. 3, I don't know if it is actually possible to even access the full bbc.co.uk site from outside of the UK.
HTH, Bryan Begin forwarded suggestions: 1. To stop Safari in DOM mode crashing when accessing pages at www.bbc.co.uk turn off cursor tracking (Shift+VO+F3 ) before opening the page, or use the VO utility web settings to change Safari to Group mode. 2. However when you have done that it may not help you to actually listen to missed radio or TV programs. For radio I found that going to the page for that radio show (e.g. the Archers) rather than via the iPlayer enables you to listen to the radio show. 3. For TV the only solution I found which works was to download the free program iPlayer Downloader 4.0 (check it pout on Google). this let me download TV programs and then view them via VLC or Real player. 4. I normally use my iPhone to listen to missed radio or missed TV. Use Safari to find the desired program on the BBC iPlayer and double tap and hold the "Click here to play" button to temporarily turn off VO and then do a single tap to activate that button. This works for both radio and TV. 5. Try installing the "click to flash" safari plug-in.
