Hi,
I use a program someone else recommended on this list by the name of SharpKeys. 
 I remap left command to caps lock and use ctrl+escape to open the start menu 
instead of that key's normal function, which is the left Windows key.  Alt+tab 
is done with option+tab.
Googling for SharpKeys should get you a download link.
