Hiya mate,
Garage band is easy as to record with, alternatively, if you really
want to get into it, you could buy either Protools, or Logic, although
I'm not sure about the current accessibility of either of those.

If you're moving to mac afresh, I'd definately reccommend the Garage
Band route, as Garage band is now pretty much totally accessible, and
a really nice piece of software, which a lot of people overlook as
amateur.
