Hi all,

I'm macless at the moment. THis message is being written on my Ihphone courtesy
of my bluetooth keyboard. TO make a really long story short, the Mac's charger
got too hot and I had to take it in for repair. The cost of the repair is
similar to getting a new Mac. So this looks like the route I will go. My
question is since I backed up everything with Time Machine, is it possible to
use the backups on the the new Mac? I have read several threads on how to use
migration assistant, but it appears that the original Macbook has to be here in
order for this to work. Can you restore your old files to a new Mac if they are
just backed up on a Fantom hard drive through Time Machine? I hope to get my
new Mac tomorrow, I have missed it for a whole week, any assistance would be
grately appreciated. Have a wonderful day.

Musically,
Allison
