Hi! I am new to audio editing on the Macintosh platform. I have access to Garageband version 6, Amadeus Pro and Audacity at this moment. I have been working mostly with Amadeus Pro in its latest version (I think it is version 1.4.5). The purpose of this mail is not to judge an application over anothet but I am confused and I suppose I need some clarification on how to perform some of the following tasks: 1. I need to create voiceovers where there are two tracks. Track A is an instrumental track (background music). Track B is the speech-track. I want to let the music go down to a certain volume and then the speech kicks in. When the speech has finished the musictrack should then go up to the volume which it was before the fadeing took place. I have not in any of the apps mentioned above found an easy way to do this, because I want the fade to be pretty smoothly. 2. I am new to all this multitrack-stuff but I guess there are some possibilities that aren't availoble when using single tracks editors. Have anyone found some tips or tricks to edit a specific track without accidentally deleting something from a track which was complete? I do apologize if this list wasn't the right one to ask these kinds of questions.
