Dear list, I'm trying to use a normal headset microphone on my mac, but I can't make it work. It is not a u s b microphone or headset, but it is a headset with 2 jack plugs. One jack plug takes the sound output from the computer so I can hear it on the headphones. The other jack is the microphone plug coming from the headset, going into the computer.
What do I need to do in order to get the mike on the headset working? It is plugged in, but I am not yet familiar with the sound and midi setup. I looked at it and tried a few things, but I can't find a clue. All the mac does, is use the internal microphone, no matter what I do so far. Could it be that on a mac book pro, you can only use the second jack plug in the mac for line in, or is there a way to use an external microphone on this input jack on the mac?
