Hmmmm, Let's see if I can explain how to do this. You will need to do this for each mail box that you are in. Well, at least I think.
Go to the view menu, then columns submenu. Then uncheck all of most of the columns you want except for the column you want to be first. Then go back into the view menu, then the columns submenu and recheck the columns you would like but do them in the order you want them to show up. For example, if you want the from column first. You will uncheck all but the from column. Then if you want the subject column then you would go back into the view menu and then check subject. Then you would continue to check the columns in the order that you want.
