Hi Anne, If you ever figure out a way to tell from the specs presented in the literature about a given scanner if it will work with abbyy fine reader, I hope you will let the list know. I know that the scanner I have, a bookedge type from plustek has beta Mac drivers now. But I haven't the first clue if it works with abbyy. I am using a pc with k1000 as I have done for years, but this scanner and its newer cousin, the opticbook 4600 are excellent for scanning books that you can't cut up and need to return in the same shape you got them, as from a library.
