the ammount of time remaining can change alot depending on wha tyou are doig at the time for example I can get 7 hours when i fire up th emac and am not doing anything but it settles down to a reasonable 5 hours after a littl ebit it is based on current power consumption rates and such screen brightness makes quite a difference as does disk and optical drive use and processor load screen set on bright listening to a cd or dd and in a skype call and my mattery will go down quickly an dthis will be indicated on the time left display for me it seems to be fairly accurate if you continue to do what you are already going with the machine at the time of your check
